Updating obsolete and overloaded thoroughfares and the planning and design of new bridges represent typical KRRA bridge assignments. Past bridge projects include single and multiple span structures as well as short and long span precast concrete culvert types. Our experience includes timber, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete and steel bridges utilizing either straight, skewed or curved alignments. Foundations for past bridge projects have included both spread footings and pile foundations. Our knowledge in pile foundation design has involved steel bearing and friction piles, timber friction piles, as well as reinforced concrete caissons. Our staff is well versed in the use of many different types of building structural systems and materials. We use the latest in computer aided design software to design the most functional and economical engineering solutions. Our involvement does not stop at the end of the design process. As a link between the owner and contractor, we are directly involved from concept to start-up. This method of working ensures proper implementation of our design and assists the owner in performing construction contract administration. KRRA has committed its resources to providing our clients with a full-service spectrum of experience and expertise able to provide and deliver designs that satisfy the needs of a functional, practical, economical and aesthetically pleasing building.
